Hi loves, I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I wanted to share some photos from a wedding I went to last weekend in DC (two wedding posts in a row! I promise no more for awhile). You might not know that I was in a sorority in college, but my “big sister” Langley is one of my best friends and a role model whom I (and many others) look to for advice, inspiration and love when we need it most. She is an incredible woman and friend and I am thrilled that she has found her partner, her love, Steven. I remember a time before they even started dating, when Langley told me that she thought Steven “idealized” women and that he would need a “perfect girl” as a match. Wouldn’t you know, that perfect girl was her all along.
This was my first Catholic wedding, so I attended their full mass and then the festivities began! The wedding was travel-themed and how thrilled was I when I found out I was sitting at the Paris table? Dinner was incredible, too especially the roasted corn & avocado appetizer. I found this amazing Nanette Lepore dress at a tiny vintage boutique and thought it would be just right for a more conservative wedding. For a long time, I abhorred strapless dresses (typically they just slide down my not-so-curvaceous frame resulting in me tugging at my dress all night), but this one was too perfect to pass up and tight enough that I didn’t have to worry. It has a sparkly moon detail on the front, along with the oversized bow and ruffle hem that are so sweet and romantic. The best part about this wedding though, had to be that I got to see a lot of people that I haven’t seen since college, making it like a little reunion.
Outfit: vintage Nanette Lepore dress, vintage clutch, Zara kitten heels
