Hello from New York City! I love that I can be here and still write this post about my other favorite city, Charleston. This is only a short weekend trip, but it is so nice to be back and see old friends. Just walking around in New York, I can feel an energy shift that is exciting and motivating. The buildings are so gorgeous and literally around every corner is an art museum or gallery. I can’t wait to get out and take some photos today! But first, I want to share an event I recently attended for the Charleston Blog Society that was held at the incredible Gadsden House downtown.
The historic venue built in 1798 is a stunning display of Federal Style architecture that was originally a home, but is now primarily used as a private events space for events like the Charleston Blog Society’s Valentine’s party 🙂 Many wedding receptions also take place at the Gadsden House, which I find doubly cool when you consider that the manor was originally a wedding gift from revolutionary war hero Christopher Gadsden to his son. The interior is a dream with floor to ceiling crown molding and sparkling chandeliers in every room, practically begging you to take a picture. Our event room fit in perfectly with a table set in gold and roses by The Silver Starfish and Valentine’s treats whipped up by Swank desserts. Special thanks to Gillian of Coastal Bride for coordinating this beautiful event and letting us get a peek inside an incredible historic home!
