Part of our Christmas celebrations this year included driving up for a family reunion in Pinehurst, North Carolina and staying at the Carolina Hotel! This was our first time staying here and it was really a darling historic property decorated to the nines with garland, lights– everything to create a magical holiday stay. As the weather was actually pretty warm, I thought it was the perfect occasion to wear a new dress I got for Christmas (shop here). As the dress is a dark color, I think the floral print works well for winter and summer. Kind of doubt I’ll be wearing this in London though– at least not for a few months!
My favorite part of the hotel was the grounds which included a gazebo, ice skating rink, pool/hot tub and giant chess set! I am actually a terrible chess player, but how can I resist pretending to be Harry Potter? I just finished The Cursed Child and enjoyed it, although not as much as the series…I thought it could have used a little more detail like her other books. Still, it’s nice to go back to the things we loved in childhood every now and then.
In other news, I’m leaving this Friday for Beaver Creek to go skiing! Swish swish I can almost feel the chill on my face as I glide down the mountain. Cannot wait. Skiing is one of my favorite activities, it’s so freeing. And freezing haha 🙂 ‘Til next time loves xo
